LOFNLOGO / VERSION 1.0.0 / ENGLISH GUIDE

A clear last step
for your logo project.

LofnLogo lets a designer turn finished logo files into a portable chooser. You decide which original belongs to each use. Your client chooses a task, background and variant, then downloads the original you assigned.

First result · Your originals · Recommendations · Export & reopen · Troubleshooting

The recipient needs only the exported HTML, a supported browser, and your instructions. This is a static handoff, with no account or live update service. LofnLogo does not create logos or decide print, color, safety or licensing suitability.

1. Get your first result

Extract the entire buyer ZIP into a folder. Open LofnLogo.html with desktop Google Chrome. The tested host is Linux x86_64, Chrome 152.0.7977.82. No server, Node, Python, installation or network connection is needed for normal use. Windows, macOS and other browsers have not been verified.

Click Try the Cedar example. This loads six fictional originals and five explicit recommendations. In the rehearsal, choose Slides and documents → Dark → Full logo. You should see the white bicycle and CEDAR lettering on a dark preview. Download PNG produces a2-cedar-white.png, unchanged from the supplied cedar-white.png.

The free pack includes examples/Client-Logo-Guide.html. Open it to try the recipient experience without the authoring application. The free pack does not include the paid authoring tool.

2. Gather your own originals

Use Create a handoff for a new project; replacing unsaved work asks for confirmation. Enter the client title, snapshot date as YYYY-MM-DD, designer contact and scope/exclusions in 1 · Originals. Scope is plain text: explain what was supplied and what clients should ask you about.

Use Add original files to select finished PNG, JPG/JPEG, SVG, PDF, AI or EPS files. Originals remain untouched; exports add an ID prefix and replace unsafe filename characters. Inspect the final download name on each card. Duplicate original names are allowed because their exported IDs differ.

Select several file-card checkboxes, choose Group selected files as, then Apply group. Add a named variant such as “Horizontal lockup” when needed. For an opaque SVG/PDF/AI/EPS file, optionally choose Preview only (original unchanged) and select an imported PNG/JPEG. This explicitly pairs a visual preview; it never converts the opaque file. Otherwise the card displays a format badge.

Removing a file clears recommendations that referred to it and removes preview pairings to that raster. Required recommendations then need correction. To replace a file, remove it, add the new original and explicitly reassign its recommendations.

Input limitValue
Originals60 files; 5,000,000 bytes each; 25,000,000 bytes combined
Raster dimensions16,000,000 pixels maximum; real decode required
Generated previewsAt most 320 × 200; 150,000 encoded characters each
Project / HTML45,000,000 bytes each; 1–12 unique variants
Text fieldsTitle 120; contact 300; scope 2,000; variant 60; per-combination note 500 characters

SVG/PDF/AI/EPS are opaque originals, not parsed or displayed as active documents. A matching extension is a label, not evidence that the file is valid or suitable. Preview images may be downsampled; downloaded originals are never resized. Arbitrary preview data in a project is rejected; raster previews are regenerated from originals.

3. Make recommendations in batches

Open 2 · Recommendations. Select one or more tasks and backgrounds, a variant, a recommended original and an optional instruction. Click Apply recommendations. Every selected task/background combination for that variant receives the selected original and note. Applying again replaces those exact combinations. The file’s group is an authoring aid; you can explicitly recommend any supplied file for a selected variant.

Either is a separate background choice. It does not automatically fill Light or Dark. Unmapped combinations say “This use was not included” and show your contact. “All supplied files” always gives separate access to all originals.

Mark combinations required when you must include them before handoff. Required combinations with “No recommendation” block exports. The map’s Edit button loads one combination into the form for correction; Remove deletes that mapping and its required flag.

4. Rehearse, export and save

Open 3 · Rehearse & export. Try your intended choices and at least one unsupported choice. The rehearsal and exported guide use the same renderer. Complete the three confirmations for recommendations, originals/download names, and scope/contact. Any project change resets them. Opening a saved project requires fresh confirmation too.

Export review with a missing required recommendation and correction button
A required missing assignment blocks export. Correct recommendations before continuing.
  1. Export client guide downloads Client-Logo-Guide.html. It contains your project snapshot, chooser and original bytes. Send this to the client through your existing approved transfer method.
  2. Export text handoff downloads HANDOFF.txt, listing recommendations, scope, contact and all filenames. This text file contains no original asset bytes; send it with the guide.
  3. Save project downloads Project.lofnlogo.json, your editable source with embedded originals. Keep it for future changes. Open project restores it; it does not import the exported recipient HTML.

Ask the recipient to download the HTML fully, then open it locally in Chrome. Cloud/email preview panes may not run it, and some transfer systems block HTML. No mail-delivery compatibility is promised. Use a transfer method approved by the recipient; do not bypass their organization’s restrictions.

To revise a handoff, reopen the project, make changes, review again and export a new client guide. Existing guides remain unchanged and cannot be revoked remotely. The guide is editable HTML, not tamper-proof, password-protected or signed.

Troubleshooting

What happened?Next step
Nothing appears in a previewOpaque formats show badges unless paired with a raster. A white logo needs a dark preview background. Check the original in its usual application.
Import failsRead the displayed error. Check supported extension, nonempty files, count, bytes and raster dimensions. Reduce oversized assets in your normal design tool. Invalid batches and invalid projects preserve the current project.
Saved JSON is refusedUse a LofnLogo version 1 project; do not hand-edit IDs, base64 or thumbnails. Try your previous saved copy. The exported client HTML is not a project file.
Export is blockedFill required recommendations and all three confirmations. Use a nonblank title and valid date. Editing after confirmation resets it.
Browser asks about multiple downloadsApprove only downloads you initiated. Locate them in your browser’s normal Downloads list. Download names have safe ID prefixes.
Guide does not open from email/cloudDownload and open locally. If HTML delivery is prohibited, agree another permitted handoff with your client; do not assume the text handoff contains the files.
Work disappeared after closingNo automatic save exists. Reopen your most recent downloaded project. Save before closing; the unsaved-work indicator and browser close prompt are reminders, not backups.

Privacy, rights and uninstall

The application does not upload or fetch files, use analytics or persist project data to browser storage. Browser downloads are explicit. Anyone with the exported HTML or saved project can access its embedded originals. This tool does not inspect original-file safety or rights; only distribute files you intend the recipient to receive. Opening a downloaded original in another application is outside the chooser’s boundary.

Delete the extracted folder to uninstall. Delete unwanted downloaded guides/projects separately. Keep backups of your original artwork. No system service or account is installed.

Desktop Chrome on Linux was exercised with offline fresh contexts, malformed inputs, script-like labels and opaque SVG, 60 files/25 MB, 16 MP rasters, keyboard controls and narrow layouts. Narrow-screen checks are layout evidence, not mobile-browser compatibility or accessibility certification. AI/EPS native application compatibility and printer acceptance were not tested. Builder results are not independent product acceptance.
