VarSeal free examples
=====================

This free pack contains the VarSeal 1.0.1 manual and a worked example. It does
NOT contain the VarSeal application.

- manual/index.html The illustrated manual with real screenshots.
- practice-input/ Ten fictional practice files (nine JPEGs, one text
file) made for the Harbor Studio / Northwind Bakery
example. All images are first-party synthetic graphics.
- expected-output/ The verified result of the worked example, saved from
the VarSeal 1.0.1 app (Load practice photos, Use
                        example values, Create delivery ZIP):
                        photos/ (7 JPEG copies), VarSeal-delivery-notes.html,
                        VarSeal-receipt.json, VarSeal-receipt.csv and
varseal-template.json. A new run differs only in its
                        date/time stamps.

In the receipt, notes.txt is listed with input_read false and no SHA-256:
VarSeal does not open files that are not .jpg/.jpeg.

You can inspect the expected output with any metadata reader, for example:

  exiftool -XMP-plus:DataMining -XMP-xmpRights:UsageTerms expected-output/photos/H_0001.jpg

Expected Data Mining value:
  http://ns.useplus.org/ldf/vocab/DMI-PROHIBITED-AIMLTRAINING
(shown by ExifTool as "Prohibited for AI/ML training")

Compare an input and its copy pixel by pixel (ImageMagick):

compare -metric AE practice-input/H_0001.jpg expected-output/photos/H_0001.jpg null:

The result 0 means no decoded pixel differs.

The embedded statements are machine-readable notices. They cannot technically
prevent copying or AI training, and this is not legal advice. All names in the
example are fictional.
