Before you start

  • Blender 4.5 LTS; tested in Blender 4.5.14 on Linux x64.
  • Extract the purchased bundle and keep the included gleipnir_rig-1.0.1.zip intact for installation.
  • A saved .blend with an ordinary armature and mesh collection; start with the generated example rigs.

Your first result

  1. Install from disk

    Extract gleipnir_rig-1.0.1-bundle.zip. In Blender 4.5, Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions → top-right menu → Install from Disk. Select the inner gleipnir_rig-1.0.1.zip, then confirm it is enabled in Add-ons.

  2. Choose collection

    Open a saved .blend, press N in 3D Viewport and select GleipnirRig. Choose the collection you deliver.

  3. Run and review

    Click Run Handoff Check. Review source audit and recipient simulation results, including manual checks and next actions.

  4. Export or remove

    Export Report & Recipient Guide to write HTML, JSON and text files. Uninstall from Preferences → Add-ons → GleipnirRig Handoff Check → Uninstall.

A worked example

Find an override problem before sending a rig

Input: The purchased generated gr_override_problem.blend fixture in the examples ZIP, with a collection named GR_Character.

  1. Open the saved example in Blender 4.5.
  2. Choose GR_Character and run the check.
  3. Inspect confirmed failures and export the report and recipient guide.

Expected result: The example reports non-overridable custom properties and a deforming armature outside the collection. The recipient simulation saves and reopens a linked test copy; animation quality is not certified.

Troubleshooting

The recipient simulation does not run

Save the .blend and rerun. Unsaved changes are deliberately refused.

The panel is missing

Check Blender 4.5 and that GleipnirRig Handoff Check is enabled in Add-ons; press N in the 3D Viewport.

Compatibility & limits

  • Runs locally without uploads or telemetry. Exported reports can include file paths; review before sharing.
  • Python drivers and rig UI scripts are never executed and require manual review.
  • Windows/macOS, all rig types and animation correctness are untested.
